Delaware Water Gap Explorer

 

Appalachian Trail Boardwalk, High Point State Park & Waterfalls

We will start our tour at 7 am in midtown Manhattan, 8th Avenue between 33rd and 34th Street (by Duane Reade) DON'T BE LATE! Come 15 minutes early to sign in.

You will be greeted by your tour guide for the day. You will sign our liability waiver, and after departure a light breakfast will be served on board the van.

 

 

Pochuck Boardwalk. Start the day with hiking part of the famous Appalachian Trail (Hiking trail between Georgia to Maine). Enjoy a stroll on the mile long Pochuck Board walk. Walk over freshwater marsh wetlands without getting wet.

 

The trail offers an expansive view of the Vernon valley and you can view marsh critters like turtles and water snakes and vast amount of wild flowers (during Spring and Summer).

 

High Point State Park
We will visit the highest point in New Jersey, High Point State Park at 1,803 ft above sea level. This park was was dedicated in 1923 as the first State Park in New Jersey. You will experience spectacular panoramic views of rich farmland, forest and mountains in three states New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

At the top you will find a 220 ft monument built in 1930 to honor of all war veterans.

 

 

 

 

We will eat lunch.

 

 

 

 

 

Raymondskill Falls
After lunch we will explore the tallest waterfall in Pennsylvania, Raymondskill Falls. It is a series of three cascading waterfalls with a combined height of approximately 150 feet/46 meters. The falls are easy accessible by a short hike to a couple of viewing platforms.
 
 
 
 
Dingmans Falls
We will also visit the second highest water fall in Pennsylvania, the 130 foot Dingmans Falls.
 
 
 
 
 
The falls is easily accessible by a wooden walkway through a pristine forest. On the way to Dingmans Falls you will also see the smaller Silverthread Falls.
 
 
 
 
We will also visit the beautiful Shohola Falls
 
 
We will drive back to NYC.
Arrival back to NYC at approximately 6 pm.

WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR ON THE TOUR:

ID: Please bring a valid government issued identification. (Adults only)

TOUR CONFIRMATION: Either printed out or on your phone.

CLOTHES: according to the weather. 

FOOTWEAR: Hiking shoes, good walking shoes or sneakers with good traction will do as well. Do not wear dress shoes or high heels.

RAIN GEAR: Even with no rain in the forecast, we recommend you to bring some rain gear.

WATER: In a plastic bottle, especially on hot days. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

MOSQUITO REPELLANT 

CAMERA: With extra memory/battery/film is highly recommended. You will experience breath taking scenery.

FACE MASK: Which for now have to be worn all time inside our transportation vehicle.

CASH: Although our tour is classified as an "all inclusive". It is advisable to bring some cash for snacks and gratuities for the guide which is left to your discretion.
