Scenic Train Ride, Skyride and Octoberfest (Fall Foliage Tour)

 

 

We will start our tour at exactly 8:00 am. We will meet at 2nd. Ave between 80th and 81st Street in Manhattan by H&H Midtown Bagels East. DON'T BE LATE! Come 15 minutes early to check in. You will be greeted by your tour guide for the day. You will sign our liability waiver, and after departure a light breakfast will be served on board the coach.

On this tour we will explore and enjoy the spectacular fall colors of the Catskill Mountains. We will start the day with a historic scenic train ride. The train ride is approx. 1 1/2 hours long traveling through spectacular sceneries such as small villages, rivers, rolling fields and of course majestic mountains.

 

 

You will have the option of sitting in an outdoor or an indoor car. You will also have some time to explore a railroad museum exhibit.

Afterwards we will drive to Hunter Mountain to celebrate Octoberfest. Featuring authentic German and German-American entertainment in the beauty of the northern Catskills during the peak of the fall colors. The Celebration of the harvest features a farmers market with many different vendors, free crafts and pumpkin painting for the kids and much more.

 

At Hunter Mountain we will also experience the longest and highest skyride in the Catskills. This skyride provides some of the greatest panoramic views in the Catskills. It brings you to the top of a summit at 3,200 feetof elevation, where you also can see the BerkshireMountainsof Massachusettsand the Green Mountainsin Vermont.

We will drive back to NYC. Arrival back to NYC at approximately 7:30 pm.

 

Hines Tours reserves the right to alter the itinerary, plans and arrangements for the tour, if in the judgment of Hines Tours it becomes advisable to do so.

 

 

WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR ON THE TOUR:

ID: You will need to bring a valid government issued identification.

CLOTHES: according to the weather,Upstate NY is usually about 10-15 degrees cooler than NYC.

WATER: In a plastic bottle, especially on hot days. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

CAMERA: With extra memory/film is highly recommended. You will experience breath taking scenery.

CASH: Although our tour is classified as an "all inclusive". It is advisable to bring some cash for souvenirs, snacks for the bus ride back and gratuities for the guide which is left to your discretion.
