Follow winding brick paths of the charming Village to discover the best in apparel, accessories, home goods, furniture, fine art and handcrafted items, books, toys and games, and plenty of holiday gifts and collectibles.
You will find over 60 quality specialty shops & restaurants, all located on 42 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.
In December you will truly experience the holiday spirit of Peddler’s Village with different family-friendly events such as a Santa parade, photos with Santa, holiday tunes, and more.
We will eat a late lunch at a local buffet restaurant. If you think that you might need more food for the day, you are welcome to bring some or you can also buy food at both venues we will visit.
Next we will visit one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the country, Longwood Gardens. The garden consist of over 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands and meadows. (in comparison the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is 52 acres). Photo courtesy of Longwood Garden.
Longwood Garden is especially spectacular during the holiday season. The last five years in a row the garden has won the Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights contest by USA TODAY’s Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Photo courtesy of Longwood Garden.
As with many other attractions of Brandy wine Valley in Pennsylvania, Longwood Gardens was once owned by one of the du Pont family, Pierre S. du Pont, he was the one that began the tradition of opening the estate to visitors. He left most of his estate to the preservation and maintenance of these gardens and the foundations have continued to open the gardens to the public. Photo courtesy of Longwood Garden.
With more than 550,000 outdoor lights and fountains that dance to holiday classics, it is no wonder that people from all over the country comes to this garden during the holiday season.
