Tour 4 - Bash Bish Falls & North-South Lake (The Berkshire and the Catskill Mountains)

We will start our tour at  7:00 am. We will meet at 2nd. Ave between 80th and 81st Street in Manhattan by H&H Midtown Bagels East. DON'T BE LATE! Come 15 minutes early to check in.

You will be greeted by your tour guide for the day. You will sign our liability waiver, and after departure a light breakfast will be served on board the coach.

We will first drive to the Berkshire Mountains in the state of Massachusetts where we indulge in a short hike to the tallest waterfall in Massachusetts the Bash Bish Falls.

This is a picturesque 80-foot twin fall which cascades into a pool at the bottom of a deep snake shaped gorge. Bash Bish Falls has been a favorite subject of painters and photographers for more than 150 years. Even though this is a popular Berkshire attraction, when you arrive you will feel like you have discovered a secret, woodland cascade.

From the Berkshire Mountains we will drive to the Catskills Mountains where we will visit North-South Lake, the biggest campground in the Catskills offering both extraordinary scenic beauty and historical sites.

We will enjoy a picnic lunch including non alcoholic beverage.

After the lunch you will have several options for spending the rest of the day. You can join a 3 hour guided hike where you will experience highlights such as Ashley Falls, Newman’s Ledge, Sunset Rock and Artist Rock. (Participants of the hike should be in a fairly good shape, a little climbing is involved)

If you don’t want to hike, you can enjoy your time by the lake beach where you also for a minimal fee also can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, paddleboats, fishing (bring your own pole) or take a short stroll to the famous Mountain House Site.

If you do choose to join the hike, you will still have some time to enjoy the lake.

We will drive back to NYC.

Arrival back to NYC at approximately 7:30 pm.
